How Shuckbuddy works
There is nothing better in the winter time than pulling a bag of home frozen corn from your freezer and
enjoying its flavor. Remember that freezing corn is best when the corn has just been freshly picked as
sweet corn’s sweetness can diminish quickly. Husk and de-silk the sweet corn ears and cut out any
damaged areas. Place ears in rapidly boiling water. Allow water to regain its brisk boil, when this occurs
begin your timer for 3.5 minutes. Removed cooked ears from boiling water, plunging them immediately
into cold water then transfer the ears to ice water. The water in your first cold water bath may need to
be changed often to maintain a cold temperature. Ears should be cold to touch. Proceed to Shuck It unit.
The cut corn kernals should be cold. After cutting and bagging, place bags scattered but not touching
each other in the freezer to ensure quick freezing of the corn. The bags may be stacked after completely
frozen to allow for more compact storage in your freezer.
